Our Philosophy

Nessie English Preschool endorses the most natural and efficient way of teaching young children - learning through play. Our aim is to provide a kind, friendly, secure and exciting environment for children. Our carefully planned programme offers rich and meaningful experiences which are important to young children's learning and development.

We aim to teach children the basics of spoken English; to support and encourage their independence in exploring new experiences; to be fascinated and enthused about discovering and learning. We will support the personal, social and emotional development of each child, helping them to establish good relationships with each other, with respect for and understanding of their own and each other's personal and cultural differences - on the way to becoming good world citizens. We understand and acknowledge the importance of close communication and involvement with parents and family, and we will do our best to co-operate with parents at all times.

We aim to develop each child's natural ability to imagine, learn through curiosity and exploration, experiment, and create. Our programme is designed to stimulate and keep children interested within the boundaries of their limited attention span. Experiences are active and 'hands-on', and relevant to the people, places and things familiar to a young child's world.

At Nessie English Preschool we value the importance of sufficient exercise, both indoors and outdoors, and the natural desire of young children to enjoy times of free play, games and social interaction. Incorporated into the programme every day are times of freedom for the children to choose their own activities and play situations.
